Filing Requirements for Registering Patents and Utitlity Models
in the DPR of Korea


   1. Information:
     - Full Names, Nationality, and Address of each Inventor
     - Full Names, Nationality, and Address of the applicant
     - Title of invention
     - Priority: Number, Date, and Country
   2. Power of Attorney download
   3. Deed of Assignment (only if applicant(s) is (are) not the inventor(s)) download
   4. Inventor's declaration download
   5. A Priority document (if priority is to be claimed)
   6. Descriptions and claims in Korean language, or their Korean translations
   7. Drawings

   In the case of a national phase of a PCT application, the following additional documents need to be provided:
     - A copy of the international application as published and search report as issued
     - A copy of claim ammendments under PCT Article 19, if any
     - A copy of the international preliminary examination report, if under PCT Chapter 2


* All required documents must be filed within 3 months from filing date.

A patent application is to be examined within 15 months from the filing date.
The patent certificate is available subject to payment of the issue fee.
A patent is granted for 15 years from the filing date and can be annually renewed.
A PCT national phase patent is granted for 15 years from the international filing date.
