Phellinus Linteus - The Elexir for Health and Long Life

1. What is Phellinus Linteus or Sang-hwang?

Phellinus Linteus, a medicinal fungi known as "Sang-hwang" in Korea and "Mesimakobu" in Japan, are extremely rare to find in the nature. They can be found rarely on wild mulberry trees that have grown for many decades in deep forests. The medicinal effects of Sang-hwang in treating illnesses have been well known in oriental medicine since ancient times. An old korean saying goes that if you are able to find a yellow lump that grows on a mulberry tree, then you can bring back a dying person to life.

Sang-hwang mushrooms have been proven to have anti-carcinogenic effects by fully restoring the human immune system. Clinical tests performed in the DPR. of Korea, as well as other Asian and European countries show that Sang-hwang extracts are highly effective in treatment and preventive treatment of liver cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, and other cancers, as well as AIDS, diabetes, high blood-pressure and loss of energy.

Sang-hwang extracts in powder, capsule or liquid form when taken on a regular basis, can significantly reduce the chances of getting cancer. There are absolutely no known side effects of using Sang-hwang for long periods of time.

The main reason why the mass production of medicinal drugs containing Sang-hwang have been almost impossible, is because of the difficulties in finding Sang-hwang mushrooms in the nature.

2. New Technology for Cultivation of Phellinus Linteus (KCNA News: 22.March 2002)

A group of scientists and specialists in a medicinal research center in the DPR of Korea, after years of research, have been successful in developing a new technology for artificially growing Sang-hwang mushrooms in a green house environment, producing up to 300kg of (dried) Sang-hwang a year. The uniqueness of this new cultivation method is that the Sang-hwang (phellinus linteus) thus cultivated are in no way differentiable from natural Sang-hwang, and that they have "completely" the same medicinal effects as naturally found Sang-hwang mushrooms.
